Overview

National Beef, a national leader in the beef industry, is looking for college students ready to experience and submerge themselves in a full Case Ready Operations training program. From Ground Beef Formulation to Whole Muscle processing and packaging, we want you to join our family for the summer of 2025 as an Operations Intern.

 

Our internship program could jump-start your career in Operations Management and teach you critical employee management techniques. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in first-hand process management, critical thinking skills, operational planning for customer fulfillment needs, and formulation of ground beef in a state-of-the-art facility. You will be introduced to our company culture and work practices and learn about department processing practices from start to finish. The summer will end with a presentation to the Senior Operations Management team and key Department heads demonstrating what you have learned.

 

This is an in-person, hands-on experience at our Moultrie, Georgia facility. This is a safety-sensitive position.

 

This is a paid internship. Housing allowance is included where required.

 

Program length:  10-12 weeks

Responsibilities

Program highlights for the Operations Summer Internship include but are not limited to:

 

This experience will provide you with a broad introduction to the National Beef Packing Operations process including rotation through all different Operational areas throughout the facility. Rotation will include opportunities to blend/formulate ground beef, process whole muscle beef/pork, and engage with all supporting departments throughout the Operations process. You will work collaboratively with the Operations Team and have networking opportunities with senior leadership in the facility.

 

As an Operations Summer Intern, you will be responsible for submitting weekly reports to the Corporate Vice President of Operations and the facility General Manager summarizing what you have learned the previous week and displaying your gained knowledge of our processing techniques.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Operations Summer Internship position should possess the following:

  • Enrolled and have completed at least two years in an accredited college degree program focusing on one of the following fields of study:
    • Animal Science
    • Ag Business
    • Microbiology/Chemistry
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Other Related Fields may be considered
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in core curriculum classes
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and on-campus involvement
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed on project work
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products
  • Availability to work 40+ hours per week (some weekend work) on-site for the duration of the internship
