Responsibilities

Quality Assurance Superintendent responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Food Safety and Regulatory Programs, including HACCP, SSOP, and GMP Programs
  • Collects and trends data, reporting results and information to key stakeholders
  • Monitors, audits and verifies processes and facility condition, including corrective action implementation and effectiveness
  • Supports facilitation of second and third party audits
  • Maintains Food Safety and Regulatory Programs per the Plant Quality Management System, including the annual reassessment of each program and ensures that procedures and documents supporting the programs are updated and accurate
  • Retrieves, stores and compiles data for trend analysis. Uses data to identify opportunities and generate reports. Provides information to key stakeholders including customer, suppliers/buyers, FSIS and Corporate Technical Services
  • Performs facility audits/inspections (interior and exterior) and reports non-conformities to appropriate departments, verifies that root causes, corrective actions and preventative measures are identified, implemented and effective. Prepares for, and supports, the facilitation of second and third party audits
  • Reviews and maintains records per the Company Record Retention Policy. Maintain electronic logs, files and records
  • Develops and implements Food Safety and Quality training for new employees and refresher training for existing employees
  • Serves as back-up for department personnel, completes special projects as assigned, performs other duties and tasks as needed or assigned by the Senior Quality Assurance Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

This is an on-site position.   This is a safety sensitive position.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the Quality Assurance Superintendent position should possess the following:

  • HACCP Certified

  • Internal Auditor Certified

  • Minimum 1 – 3 years of experience in Food Safety or Quality Assurance Role

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-Point)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Understanding of Sanitation Processes and Environmental Monitoring Methods

  • Good Math Skills

  • Flexible to work off-shifts or split shifts as needed

  • Eager to learn and grow in the position
